The Wacken Open Air (W:O:A) is the world's largest Heavy Metal festival and takes place annually in Wacken, Schleswig-Holstein. First held in 1990, the festival has since evolved into one of the most important events on the Metal music calendar, attracting over 80,000 visitors from around the globe each year.

The W:O:A features a lineup that includes some of the biggest names in Heavy Metal, with multiple stages hosting bands from various subgenres of the genre, including Thrash Metal, Power Metal, Death Metal, and Black Metal.
